What is the Doc Dash?
-The Doc Dash is a 5k race/run/walk sponsored by the UI Carver College of Medicine and the Rubin Flocks Learning Community
 
When is the Doc Dash?
-April 6th, 2013; starting at 9:00AM
 
Do I have to be a doctor to participate in the Doc Dash? 
-NO! Everyone is welcome and encouraged to run or walk in the Doc Dash.
 
How do I register?
-Online registration for the 2013 Doc Dash is now closed. Race day registration is available from 7:00-8:45 AM, cash or check only.
-Race Fees:
    -$20 through 3/23/13 (online)
    -$25 from 3/24/13 - 4/5/13 (online)
    -$30 on race day (paper registration only)
 
Where can I pick up my packet?
-Pack pick-up will take place from 1:00-8:00 PM on Friday, April 5th inside the Flocks Learning Community. This is located on the main floor of the Medical Education and Research Facility (MERF) on the College of Medicine Campus. There will be signs posted at the entrances of MERF directing people where to go.

Race day packet pick-up will run from 7:00 AM - 8:45 AM on race day inside MERF.
 
Where will the Doc Dash be held?
-The race will begin and end at the Medical Education and Research Facility (MERF) at 375 Newton Rd, in Iowa City.
 
Where do I park for the Doc Dash?
-Parking is available in the Newton Rd. parking ramp directly across from MERF. Free parking is available at the Dental Building parking lot about 1/4 mile West of MERF as well as Lot 42 near the Public Health building. Please see map.
 
What does the Doc Dash Support?
-The Doc Dash is a fundraiser for the Iowa City Free Medical Clinic, and the College of Medicine Mobile Clinic.  Last year we raised over $13,000 to support these programs.
 
What is the course like?
- The 5k (3.1m) course will pass through the health sciences campus, quiet neighborhoods, along the Iowa River Corridor Trail, and finally return to the hospital area.  It is mostly flat, with one steep, but short hill in the last mile. 
 
Are pets and strollers allowed?
-Yes, pets (on leash) and strollers will be allowed, however we ask that you line up at the back of the group in order to avoid endangering other runners.  Pets will not be allowed inside MERF.
 
Will the event be timed?
-Yes, chip timing will be used so results will be available promptly.
 
Will there be prizes for the winners?
-Yes, the top 3 overall men and women will be recognized, as well as the top 3 members of each age group.  All finishers aged 10 and under will receive a medal! Prizes will not be duplicated.

Will there be raffle/door prizes?
-Yes, thanks to our many wonderful sponsors there will be lots of great prizes, so stick around after the race!
 
Are refunds available if the race is cancelled?
-The race will be held rain or shine, however, the race may be cancelled due to severe weather or dangerous conditions.  If this is the case we will notify you as soon as possible, but since this is a charity event no refunds will be made.  T-shirts and goodie bags may still be picked up.
